Dr Sadiah Boonstra

Dr Sadiah Boonstra is Head of Collections of Curatorial Transition Team at the Indonesian Agency for Museums and Cultural Heritage, Director and Founder of Culture Lab Consultancy Indonesia, Researcher at VU University Amsterdam, and also Honorary Fellow at Melbourne University. Sadiah has curated a growing number of exhibitions around the world and was previously Asia(n?) Scholar at Melbourne University and Curator Public Programs at Asia TOPA, Senior Manager Programs at National Gallery Singapore, and post-doctoral fellow at Royal Holloway University London and the British Museum.
Decolonising Indonesian history, heritage, and art through research and curatorship
Sadiah works to decolonise the history, heritage, and arts of colonial and contemporary Indonesia. She does so by combining her experiences in academic research, curation, public programming, and producing. In her work with visual artists, performers, and curators, she hopes to (re)write the histories of the overlooked and forgotten and create a more equal future.
