Though he has been the Director of Wiltshire Museum since 2008, David has previously worked for the Sussex Archaeological Society, Museum Documentation Association, and MLA Council among other cultural institutions. Outside of his work at Wiltshire Museum, David is a trustee of Wessex Museums, a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries, and even finds time to give lectures at UCL’s Institute of Archaeology.

As the director of Wiltshire Museum, David Dawson is responsible for overseeing everything that goes on in a vibrant, busy, and firmly independent museum. Driven by his passion for archaeology and local history, David is ensuring that Wiltshire Museum engages local audiences as well as those from further afield.
