Teresa Cisneros is a Chicana Londoner. Originally from ‘La Frontera’ on the Mexico-Texas border, her practice stems from her roots rather than where she finds herself now. Teresa is a curandera, an arts administrator, a curator, and a lecturer. She has worked with art and education institutions ranging from Tate to Goldsmiths to Spike Island, exploring care, policymaking, learning, and institutional change. From 2016-2018 she curated Object Positions at the Showroom to explore cultural equity, decolonial processes, and colonial administration. Cisneros is a part of the collaborative project Agency for Agency and currently the Inclusive Practice Lead for the Wellcome Collection. Her 2018 work Document 0 is a series of conversations on art institutions, diversity work, and administration. She is interested in reconstructing systems and infrastructures at the heart of cultural institutions from the Twitter.
